Share for Review in Adobe InDesign CC22

I think we can all agree that PDF changed the way we proof files and simplified the process. But there are still points of failure that I'm sure you all have suffered with, as much as I have.

Things like the email attachment is too big and you have to find another way to get it to the customer. Or maybe they don't have Acrobat to see the file. Maybe they have Acrobat, made comments, but didn't save it properly or attach the correct file back to you. You know the drill.

Most of these challenges are stripped away with InDesign's new Share for Review feature.

Because it's browser based, not tied to an application, anyone with a computer or device and some internet can review the proof. And the proof is created straight from InDesign to the web.

Nice.

Some of what you'll see in this Episode includes:

  • Creating an online proof quickly from InDesign
  • Managing privacy settings so you know who is seeing it
  • What the reviewer sees in the browser
  • Addressing comments from reviewers
  • Targeting comments to specific reviewers
  • Updating the proof as changes are implemented
  • What tools the reviewers have and how they work
  • Filtering comments
  • Using InDesign's new Revue Panel
  • Testing hyperlinks
  • What is the image quality for the proof
  • and much more

I know there is room for improvement on this feature, but as it is now is workable for me the majority of the time.
